Here's a gallery of what my desktop looks like! It's very blue, mostly because I think monochromatic color schemes are great and I like this one particular Firewatch-themed background. I'm a big Emacs user, so most of my config centers around that.

The code editing experience in Emacs more than keeps up with more recent editors and can look just as snazzy - in particular, some of the sideline information lsp-ui adds is something I've seen nowhere else! This is me editing a hashmap I implemented in C.

I use EXWM, the Emacs X Window Manager, which makes Emacs manage X windows as if they were just any other buffer. It might sound scuffed (and it can be sometimes since Emacs is generally single-threaded), but it's actually my favorite window manager thus far and works great for a daily driver. Having windows act just like buffers is incredibly natural since you're already used to working with them so much, and it means that the window manager is super well integrated into the Emacs ecosystem!

I normally use Org mode (one of the best Emacs features and the thing this site's content is written in!) and org-roam for notetaking. org-roam-ui provides this super fancy view that syncs with your editor:

Another fun thing about my config is that it is all generated from an Org mode file - even configuration for things outside of Emacs like kitty or xmodmap. Pictured is me editing that configuration (plus a transparent emacs frame)!

You can see my full configuration here. Don't blindly clone it and launch Emacs with it! It may overwrite files without asking as part ofits system-configuration step...
old config
A longer time ago, I used dwm as a window manager, and so my config was less Emacs-centric.

dmenu scripts
I made some fun dmenu scripts, like one that emulates Spotlight: it's able to open executables like dmenu_run, open files from anywhere, use feh for images, suggest more complicated commands from history, and view Org mode tasks.

I also had one for suggesting Toggl timers based on Org mode tasks:
